MET Studio’s project ‘Climate Control’ shortlisted for multiple awards in this years FX Design Awards

The MET Studio team are excited to announce that our ‘Climate Control’ project, designed in collaboration with the Manchester Museum, has been nominated for two more awards at the FX Awards 2016. We eagerly await the announcement of the results at the event, which will take place at The Grosvenor House Hotel, on the 30th November.

The engaging narrative for the ‘Climate Control’ exhibition resulted from a close collaboration between the Manchester Museum team and MET Studio, weaving together the story of the Peppered Moth, which evolved rapidly in Manchester during the Industrial Revolution. Adapting colour to camouflage itself against the changing environment, MET used the Moth as a metaphor for change to link the different exhibitions together.

MET was inspired by the idea of balance, cause and effect, and how small individual actions can have a big collective impact. They used these as their guiding principles to create a series of installations that suggest, “together we can change the future”. On entering the Temporary Exhibitions Gallery, visitors are confronted by two pathways and must make a choice of which door to go through: “Explore the past” or “Explore the future”. This small decision subconsciously shapes the course of their exhibition experience and how the climate story is told.
